Residence Permit
If you are from the United States, you do not need a visa to enter the country. But to stay for over 90 days, you will need a residence permit.
Documents Needed
*All hard-copies
ST1 Form and Acceptance Letter
You will receive both from your exchange institution. Have the ST1 form already filled
Receipt for Making Case Number
To make a case number for your residency permit you would need to pay. You must print the receipt right away as it does not save.
Official Transcripts from Home University
Can be an unofficial copy of your transcript. The Visa Application Center in SF made copies of my official transcript
Receipt of Payment for the Danish Consulate
You will also need to pay for processing your application at the Danish Consulate in New York
Colored Copy of Every Page of Passport
A copy of every single page in your passport. Copies need to be in color
Bank Statement
Since you won't be paying tuition to the exchange university, a bank statement is needed to verify you have enough funds to sustain yourself
Steps to Getting to Your Appointment
1. Make your case number at (New to Denmark) and print
2. Gather the other documents listed above
3. Make an Appointment with VHS Global. Depending on where you are there are locations across the U.S. such as San Francisco, New York City, and Houston. Be sure Denmark is one of the countries listed
4. Print the confirmation you receive after making the appointment
5. Make any travel arrangements for your appointment
